This n8n workflow is designed to automatically monitor and record SEC Form D filings during business hours, providing real-time updates suitable for venture capitalists and investors. The process begins with a scheduled trigger that runs every 10 minutes between 6 AM and 9 PM EST on weekdays. It fetches the latest SEC Form D filings using an HTTP request to the SEC EDGAR RSS feed, which returns recent filings in XML format. The workflow then parses the RSS feed to extract pertinent details such as CIK numbers, titles, form types, and links to the filings in both HTML and TXT formats.
Next, it filters out duplicate filings that have been processed previously to avoid redundancy. The remaining new filings are then formatted and appended to a Google Sheets document, creating a well-organized data sheet with all relevant information. Additional visual notes are included to guide users on the automation’s setup and purpose.
This workflow is practical for VC firms, compliance teams, or investors who need to stay updated on private placement activities and fundraising efforts without manual checks. It ensures timely, organized, and efficient tracking of SEC Form D filings during business hours, with data stored conveniently in a Google Sheet for further analysis or reporting.
