Automated Welcome & Engagement Tracking for WhatsApp Groups

This n8n workflow automates the onboarding process for new participants in a WhatsApp group. It triggers when a new user joins the group via a webhook from Whapi, then filters to ensure the event corresponds to a specific group and an ‘add’ action. If conditions are met, the workflow sends a personalized welcome message to the new user through Whapi, informing them of the group rules, points system, and engagement opportunities. Simultaneously, it creates a new record in Airtable to track the user’s engagement, including their WhatsApp ID, starting points, and the last interaction date. This automation ensures new members are welcomed, informed, and automatically added to your engagement database, streamlining community management and incentivizing participation.
